Hollywell Bay is 5 miles south of Newquay and has been voted in the top 3 most picturesque beaches in the south west of England and was used in the filming of James Bond’s Die Another Day.

Great Western Beach and Tolcarne Beach are family beaches in the centre of Newquay. They are popular with surfers and overlooked by Newquay's Sea Life Centre. Tolcarne Beach has one of Newquay’s most original restaurants on the beach with fantastic food at reasonable prices.

Newquay Harbour is an unspoilt historic part of the town with its white sand beach and fantastic Harbour Restaurant. Fishing trips and pleasure cruises can be booked. Bring your catch back to Fistral Beach House BBQ for a most satisfying end to the day.

Lusty Glaze Beach has an adventure centre, which contains the highest zip wire in Europe. The beach is surrounded by huge cliffs on all sides making it one of the most picturesque in the whole of Cornwall. Lusty Glaze Beach also has great facilities including a shop, surf hire, café and showers.

Porth Beach is another great family beach where the tide goes way out leaving numerous caves to explore. There is also the popular Mermaid Pub on the beach.

Watergate Bay has a large variety of extreme sports such as kite surfing, mountain boarding and kite buggies. Also on the beach are retail shops, surf hire and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant

Other attractions in Newquay are:  Waterworld, Newquay Zoo, Heron tennis centre (with floodlit and indoor courts) and Dairyland (which combines in and outdoor adventure for all the family). Also Trenance boating lake, with its Mediterranean gardens and fantastic new restaurant, is one of the most popular spots with the locals – so is well worth a visit. Newquay Sports Centre is a brand new facility run by the council and is reasonably priced. The Sports Centre has a challenging indoor climbing wall, squash, fitness suite, sports hall, bar and café.

Newquay has some excellent restaurants and bistros including Lewinnick Lodge, Kahuna, Fistral Blu, The Harbour, Viners (in Summercourt), Butchers Bistro, Pistachios, Cullens and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen at Watergate Bay. For families with children The Fort, West Coast and Quintrell Inn have good food and indoor soft play areas.

Newquay is a great base to explore the whole of Cornwall because of its prime, central location on the north coast and its good road, rail and bus and air link. (Fistral Beach house is only 7 miles to the Newquay Cornwall airport).

In no time at all you can be visiting places like Padstow, with Rick Stein’s fish shop, café and gourmet restaurant.

Tintagel, the legendary home of King Arthur is a few miles up the coast. St.Ives is a bustling town with great restaurants, beaches and the Tate Gallery. Lands End is a spectacular piece of coastline with a visitor centre, attractions and a unique farm. Near to Lands End is one of Cornwall’s most unspoilt beaches at Sennon Cove. Penzance and St. Michaels Mount are popular places steeped in history. Day trips can be made to the fascinating Isles of Scilly, by ship or helicopter from Penzance or by light aircraft from St. Just.

Truro is a bustling (by Cornish standards) city with fine dining, shopping, art galleries and the enormous Cathedral which is well worth a visit. Port Isaac is a traditional Cornish village, which hasn’t been spoilt by new developments and is where the T.V. series Doc Martin is filmed. The Minnack Theatre is an open-air venue with stunning sea views – early booking is advisable. Falmouth is the home of sailing and all things nautical including the Maritime Museum. Mevagissey is a quaint unspoilt village on the south coast near St Austell. Charlestown is the location of historic harbour and is home to several sailing ships and the Ship Wreck Centre. Also near St. Austell is the Eden Project (arguably the eighth wonder of the world).

With so much so see and do, why don’t you stay longer? You will be very welcome.
